FasTrak issues violation notices to motorists who choose to use FasTrak facilities but fail to pay the tolls. We provide a wide range of convenient payment options.
We also work with each motorist to resolve a violation by correcting any possible error or waiving a first-time violation penalty if the motorist opens a FasTrak account.
Bridge Toll and Express Lane Violations and Enforcement
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) enforces the vehicle code. The CHP patrols toll collection points at bridges and express lanes. They check if motorists using a carpool lane qualify for discounted or toll-free travel. The CHP issues tickets to violators.
FasTrak electronically detects FasTrak toll tags and uses cameras to identify the license plates of vehicles passing through toll collection points. If a motorist does not pay the toll, FasTrak issues a violation notice to the registered owner of the vehicle.
Toll Violation Penalties
Violation notices are mailed to the vehicle's registered owner.
