Ways to Pay

A FasTrak toll tag may be used as payment in any lane when crossing this bridge. You may also use pay-as-you-go license plate accounts and one-time payment accounts in any lane. Cash is only accepted at FasTrak retail locations with a cash payment kiosk. There is no stopping to pay tolls at this bridge.

Toll Tag

A FasTrak toll tag saves $1 on each toll crossing. Tolls are deducted from your FasTrak account. FasTrak is the preferred choice for commuters and others who cross this bridge frequently. Carpools must have a toll tag to receive discounted tolls. Learn more about how to obtain a FasTrak toll tag.

License Plate Account

If you travel over Bay Area bridges regularly and do not want a toll tag, consider opening a License Plate Account. This type of account is now eligible to pay tolls at all bridge toll facilities. License Plate Accounts are not recommended for rental vehicle users. Learn more about opening a License Plate Account.

One-Time Payment

Another pay-as-you-go option is a one-time payment. You have 48 hours to pay a toll after crossing the bridge. Payments can be made online, over the phone or in person by contacting the Customer Service Center. Short-term one-time payment accounts also receive a discount. This is a good choice for rental vehicle users. Learn more about opening a short-term one-time payment account.

Toll Invoice

If no account exists when a toll crossing is made, FasTrak will send an invoice to the vehicle's registered owner. No extra fees will be added to the toll invoice if it is paid within 21 days. Unpaid toll invoices will escalate to toll evasion notices with additional penalties and fees. Learn more about how to pay an invoice.

Carpool

Qualifying carpool vehicles will receive a reduced-price toll during the hours of 5:00 am to 9:00 am and 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday (holidays excluded). To receive this rate, you must have a FasTrak toll tag and use the designated carpool lane. The following vehicles qualify for the discounted rate:

  • 2-axle vehicles carrying 3 or more people
  • Motorcycles
  • Buses

Eligible vehicles must have a valid FasTrak toll tag and an account in good standing to receive a discounted toll. Vehicles with dual tires are not eligible as carpools.
