What is a FasTrak Flex toll tag?

Carpools, vanpools and motorcycles need a FasTrak Flex toll tag to receive a discount in the 101 San Mateo, 101/SR-85 Santa Clara, I-680 Contra Costa, I-880 and SR-237 express lanes. Eligible CAVs may use a FasTrak Flex toll tag in the I-580 Express Lanes to travel toll free. FasTrak Flex toll tags work just like a regular FasTrak toll tag at all other FasTrak toll facilities, including the eight Bay Area toll bridges and the parking garages at the San Francisco International Airport. If you do not use express lanes as a carpool, vanpool, motorcycle or eligible CAV, a Standard FasTrak toll tag will serve all your needs. The vast majority of FasTrak users only need a Standard FasTrak toll tag.

Note: Eligible CAVs traveling in the 101 San Mateo, 101/SR-85 Santa Clara, I-680 Contra Costa, I-880 and SR-237 express lanes should use a FasTrak CAV toll tag. The FasTrak CAV toll tag is similar to FasTrak Flex but is required for eligible CAVs that wish to receive the 50% discount when traveling as a single-occupant vehicle in these lanes. The FasTrak CAV toll tag is the only one that will communicate the correct discount to roadside toll equipment.
