Benicia-Martinez Bridge

The Benicia-Martinez Bridge crosses the Carquinez Strait along Interstate 680 (I-680) and connects the cities of Benicia and Martinez. Drivers pay tolls in the northbound direction at the toll plaza on the south side of the bridge.

Ways to Pay

You can use a FasTrak toll tag to pay tolls electronically on this bridge in any lane. You can pay with cash at staffed "CASH" tollbooths.

Carpool Lanes

Qualified carpool vehicles that use the designated carpool lane will pay a reduced-price toll of $3 during carpool hours, 5:00 am to 10:00 am and 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The following vehicles qualify to use the carpool lane:

  • 2-axle vehicle, without a trailer, carrying 3 or more people
  • Clean air vehicle (CAV) with red or purple DMV-issued decal
  • 2-axle, 2-seater vehicle carrying 2 people
  • Motorcycles

All carpool and other eligible vehicles must use designated carpool lanes and a FasTrak toll tag to receive discounted tolls.

Commute Bus or Vanpools

A commute bus or vanpool vehicle may cross toll free at any time in designated lane(s), in accordance with operational procedures. When passing through staffed lanes, vehicles will be charged an axle-based toll unless the driver presents a toll-free commute bus ticket or uses a nonrevenue FasTrak toll tag. Multibridge Discount

If you travel over more than one state-owned bridge per day during peak commute hours using a FasTrak toll tag, you will receive a $0.50 discount off your second toll ($0.25 for carpools).

Only 2-axle vehicles are eligible.

You must use the same toll tag or same vehicle license plate for both tolls.

You can receive a maximum of 2 discounts per calendar day, per toll tag or vehicle.

Peak commute hours are defined as 5:00 am to 10:00 am and 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday. State-owned bridges include Antioch, Benicia-Martinez, Carquinez, Dumbarton, Richmond-San Rafael, San Francisco-Oakland Bay and San Mateo-Hayward. The Golden Gate Bridge is excluded from this discount.
